“Get too big for your boots, it’s what you need to do to make it.”

My guest today already has a decade of business experience under her belt, yet she is only in her early 20s. Liv Conlon started her first business when she was just 13, importing products from China and selling them online. After leaving school at 16, she founded her next business, ThePropertyStagers, which revolutionised how the UK sells properties and became a seven-figure business within two years.

Named UK Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2019 and 2020, Liv is now a personal brand expert, helping other like-minded entrepreneurs grow an internationally-recognizable brand through her  The Thought Leader Method. She’s also written a book, Too Big for Your Boots, which has been hailed by co-founder of Netflix, Marc Randolph, ,as “the step-by-step guide that I wish I had when I was starting out.”

We talk about the lack of support there is for young people interested in becoming entrepreneurs and how Liv is working with government to change that, as well as exactly what it was that made her hungry for success at such a young age and what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.

“I get up at 4am every single day and do eight hours work before midday,” she says.

 We also speak about:

  • The perception of young people in the world of business
  • The fatal mistake of falling in love with your product or service and knowing when to quit or stick.
  • How to deal with knock-backs and build the courage to ask for help.
  • The importance of investing in personal development.
